If you haven't yet had a Smart TV, it is not like a regular TV, more like a computer TV, and you might know how frustrating a computer can be, same is true here. Those work well on the TV, I have an HDMI cord on the DVD player. I use several devices on it, a DVD player, and a mass storage unit to play my movies and music. I was ready to throw the set out the window. If you make one mistake, (I hate the remote, so easy to hit the wrong button) you have to start spelling over. I had to put all my information in again, which was a really pain, if you have ever had to use their on screen keyboard. (Samsung's phone support was great, by the way). I had to call Amazon and then Samsung, who remotely came onto the TV in order to fix it. One night, the TV would not turn off, and I eventually had to unplug it to get it off. First of all, When I turn it on, half the time it tells me that there is no network connection, which is wrong, so I have to hold down the power button for 3 seconds to soft boot it to get to my services like Amazon Prime. It has a lot of quirks that make it kind of challenging to use, and that is not a good thing. I find myself calling is Dumbo TV more often. I am having a very contemptuous experience with this so call "Smart" TV. Regardless, it works very well and looks gorgeous with new Series X games in 4k, optimized 360 games, and also 4k digital content like films, TV shows and live sports (NFL playoffs look amazing on this set). It is not however compat with 2.1 hdmr, so keep that in mind. This tv checks off most of the compatible boxes with the new console including HDR, 4k games and streaming, and up to 60hz refresh rate. Anyone who is like me who likes to compare before they buy, i strongly suggest you consider this model.Įdit: it's now Feb 2022, and I've since upgraded my XOne S to an Xbox Series X. I'll update my review after a few months as I've only had it a few days now, but so far i'm blown away by the clarity and the value (I paid $477.00 during an early black Friday sale). I've also played a few games on it, (Halo: Master Chief Collection, Modern Warfare: Remastered, Guacamole II, etc) and the colors, contrast, etc is amazing! I watched Avengers Endgame recently on it, and the picture was flawless. I haven't noticed any auras, or halos, or slow screens. The built in 4k up-scaling features work great, and makes HD content seems so much clearer now. The TV screen is sharp, clear, and bright. I wont comment on the 'smart' features yet since I haven't really used them because i instead have it connected to my A.V receiver (for 5.1 surround sound) and to an Xbox One S console which already features an App Dashboard. I upgraded from a 46' Sony Bravia HD, so this new tv is substantially bigger, and quite an upgrade from HD to 4K. However, after just a few days with it, I love it. I was skeptical of the 6100 series tv, and initially thought I might regret not getting the 7100 or 8100 series instead. This review is for the 65' bought on Amazon, received on Saturday, Nov.
